Stanley Villas, Colne
Pendle Support moved from Nelson where we had been based for many years, to Stanley Villas in Colne in 2014.
Stanley Villas was the home of the first mayor of Colne, Samuel Catlow in 1896 and more recently a day centre owned by Lancashire County Council where local Mental Health services were based. Its closure several years ago meant it had lay dormant ever since and was falling into disrepair.
With over 5400 sq feet over four floors, parking to the rear, extensive gardens and easy access, it was an ideal place for our new home. We have spent almost a year bringing the building back into use and preserving the features within.
Stanley Villas is the home of Pendle Support on the first and second floors where our reception, training room, interview room, kitchen and offices are based.
Our Community Interest Company ( Enable U ) is based on the ground floor.
This is where we hold our drop in sessions, cookery and arts and crafts classes, meetings, support groups etc. The office for Enable U is based here.
We are fortunate to have a pool table, air hockey, table tennis and table football as well as access to and extensive DVD library for our film nights.
